Al Berry hits Vancouver

Al Berry (Dan's college and uni friend) stopped by for a visit on her way home from sunny England.

She, like many others before her, had trouble resisting the cupcakes of the cupcake shop...

We had a trip to Whistler and had a couple of great days skiing.

Things were friendly at times....

But a little more tense at others...

And of course always scenic...
Was this before or after she left?!! We'll let you decide...

So It's Been a While...

Some people may have noticed (well, that's if anyone actually still checks this thing anymore!) that the blog has taken a bit of a back seat over the past few months (ie. we've been too lazy to update it). Anyway, it's back now and also has the added feature of Google Maps! (Google is gradually taking over everything in my life - gmail, maps, blog, docs, photos, everything!) Hopefully it helps to give you a bit more of an idea of where we are and makes it a bit more interactive. If you click on the markers the blue ones have photos. We'll add some videos in there soon too.

To catch up on the last few months we're going to have to fly through a few things. Since the last post we've had a few visitors, been to Australia and back and had lots of exciting times. Posts will follow asap!

Family - January 2007

Sophie, Mum and Dan at Sandbar (our favourite restaurant)

Sisters...

This is good!

On top of Whistler at the Inukshuk!

Serious posing!

Us at the ice sculpture at Lake Louise

And who would think she's only 14!!

A newsagent owned by the Cutler Family! Apparently a common name in Nelson, BC

Sophie in Sepia, Lake Louise

Enjoying the best coffee of the trip in Nelson, BC

Bruce, Stanley and the newest member of our family, Ribs!

Christmas 2006/7 at Apex Ski Resort (again!)

Lindor, our Christmas Snowman

Apex was so good last year, we decided to take our family there for christmas. After a busy week at work (and a very crowded apartment), we left the city and drove inland to where the snow is thick and white, it doesn't rain and sometimes the sun even shines!

Sunrise on the Mountain. A view from our living room.

Mum tries skiing for the first time in, oh - only 20 years! Go the blue gloves Mum! We won't lose you!

... and you thought we were innocent!

The Cutler Pudding (all the way from Australia and through Customs) and the Stone Trifle!

Christmas Dinner - how special with all of us there together

Even if Mum was acting a little strange. Maybe that's what a cold christmas does to an Aussie?

Christmas traditions for Santa

Christmas Eve...

Christmas Morning

American pancakes for breakfast

Dave with his christmas present. We finally get rid of the other one!!! (See all Winter 2005/6 photos in archives!!!)

Luckily we had these beautiful slopes to work off our pudding!
